Special Guest Speaker this Sunday

Hello everyone,

This Sunday we have invited a special guest to come and speak to our Sunday School students.

His name is Anser Ullah. He is from Bangladesh and is a student at UPEI. Anser is also a Muslim.

With new immigrants coming to our Province, including refugees from Syria, we believe that it is important to provide opportunities for children to learn about other cultures and religions. We are seeing people from different cultures come to live right here in our community and feel the children should have an understanding and appreciation for various cultures. Furthermore, we, as a church, are sponsoring a Syrian family who will be arriving in the next couple of weeks.

Anser will talk to the kids about the Muslim faith and his culture. I met with him this morning and he was telling me how welcoming PEI has been to him. He has integrated very well into the community and is very excited to give back to the community by sharing his story.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Kind regards,
Grace

Group Activity this Week!

Hello everyone,

We are very “egg-cited” to announce that Mo Prouse will be coming in this Sunday to do egg decorating with the kids as a group activity for Sunday School.

Mo is a home economist and writes a weekly food column in the Guardian newspaper. She is a long-time member of our Church and you can often find her running the sound booth for the services. We are excited that she is sharing her talents with us!

Hope to see you there!

Winter Carnival this Sunday, March 6th!

Hello everyone,

Just a reminder that our Sunday School Winter Carnival will be held this Sunday, March 6th.

In lieu of snow activities, we will be doing some fun “stations” outside. One of those stations will be ball hockey so if you would like to participate, please have your child bring along a stick. If you are able to bring extra sticks to share with others who may not have one, we would appreciate that!

Please dress warmly. We would ask that each family please bring a snack to share and we will provide the hot chocolate.

We look forward to a great time!

See you on Sunday!
