Hi all,
We will be holding our winter carnival this Sunday!! Please dress ready to be outside!
Hope everyone enjoys their March Break!

Winter Carnival – Sunday, March 5th! (Postponed to March 19th due to storm)

Hi everyone,

This coming Sunday (March 5th) we will be having our annual Winter Carnival!

We will meet in the foyer at 1030 and head over to the playground at Central Queens. We will not be going inside for the first part of the church service. Please ensure everyone is dressed weather appropriate to be outside for an hour or so!

Please bring: hockey sticks for ball hockey (if you are interested in playing), a sled or crazy carpet (hopefully there still will be a little bit of snow for us to enjoy!) and a treat to share!

We will have lots of activities for those not interested in ball hockey or sledding (snow painting, snowperson building, other games, using the playground equipment, etc.). We will also have Hot Chocolate!

Last week our older kids prepared and served a meal at the Upper Room. They served approximately 75 people and worked hard! Our Youth Group made a bunch of cakes and cheesecakes Friday evening to serve as dessert at the Upper Room. Thanks to all of the kids who participated!

Also, the church anniversary committee announced last week that they are planning an adult vs kids hockey game on March 12th. It will be at North Rustico Arena from 3:10-4:10.

Hope to see you all this Sunday!

Thanks,
Debbie & Grace

Live Outdoor Nativity on Sunday, December 4th

We’re hosting a Live Outdoor Nativity on Sunday, December 4th in the parking lot of the church. There will be 3 showings:

  • 6:00 pm
  • 6:20 pm
  • 6:40 pm

There will be refreshments to follow in the church. All are welcome to attend! The White Gift Offering will go to a family in need in the Central Queens area.

Youth Group and Sunday School

Sunday School has started but you are never too late to join us – all are welcome!

Youth Group (grades 7 to 12) meets the last Friday of each month from 7 to 9 at the church or an off-site location.

Remembrance Day

Hi everyone,

This Sunday we will be celebrating Remembrance Day in Sunday School. We will be going outside to make our field of crosses again this year.
If each child could bring the name of a veteran to remember, we will include the name in our activity.

Rev. Barb also asked us to plant a few tulips, which were given to the church in preparation for Canada’s 150th birthday!

So we ask for everyone to come on Sunday prepared to be outside and get a little dirty!

Let us know if you have any questions!

Debbie

Going to Rosewood for Halloween this Sunday!

Hello everyone,

We’re taking the Sunday School students to Rosewood this Sunday. We ask that the students come in their Halloween costumes, which hopefully everyone will have as it is the day before Halloween this year!

We will meet at the Church at 10:30, walk over as a group, sing some songs, have a snack and then head back to the Church for 11:30.

We would love if a few parents could volunteer to make some snacks for this.

We hope to have a great turn-out as the residents really look forward to and enjoy our visit!

Hope to see you all on Sunday!

Brookfield Gardens Tour and Pick Vegetables for Food Bank

Hello everyone,

Due to the level of interest last year, we have decided to go to Brookfield Gardens again this year. We will go this Sunday, October 16 and it will be open to all ages (we are not taking separate age groups this year).

We found the time to be too short last year and so we have decided to schedule more time this year.We are asking for parents to drop kids off at Brookfield Gardens (1067 Millboro Road) at 9:00 am Sunday morning and pick up will be at 12 noon.

Bernie has arranged for a tour of the facilities and a covered wagon ride to/from the fields where we will pick vegetables for the food bank.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Rubber boots are recommended.

Please let me know if you have any questions! We look forward to seeing you all there!

Kind regards,
Grace
